Welcome to Spring-Ford Rotary!

Rotary International is the world’s first service club organization, with more than 1.4 million members in 34,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

We are very proud of the positive impact that the Spring-Ford Rotary Club is making toward a better community here and around the world.

While we are constantly working on projects to help our community, our larger signature events include the Annual Pancake Breakfast Buffet and our annual Adopt-A-Family program, both of which help numerous local organizations and families.

Our annual Limerick Uncorked Festival is quickly becoming a must-attend event, with thousands of participants local wineries and brewers, great music and artisan craft vendors. This event enables us to provide funding for even more needed projects and local organizations.

While our focus is on helping our community, we are also a fun, energetic group of area business professionals. Our weekly meetings provide an opportunity for us to listen to interesting speakers from many local organizations, and to build strong, long-lasting friendships. Our evening events are extremely fun – rotating around to different venues in the area.

We welcome all who would like to come have some fun and make some great friends while you help us in our efforts to continue making our community a better place to live and work.

The 4-Way Test

The Four-Way Test is a nonpartisan and nonsectarian ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:

Of the things we think, say or do,

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Four Way Test

Service Above Self

Rotary strives to achieve its “Service Above Self” objective through activities in four primary areas. These are often referred to as the Five Avenues of Service. Rotary clubs carry out efforts along each avenue in support of the Object of Rotary.

Club Service

This “Avenue” promotes the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service. It involves the activities necessary to make the Club function successfully and achieve its goals.

Vocational Service

This area represents the opportunity that each Rotarian has to represent the dignity and utility of one’s vocation as an opportunity to serve society. Rotarians promote and foster high ethical standards in business and professions and promote the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations.

Community Service

This “Avenue” relates to the activities that Rotarians undertake to improve the quality of life in their community. Particular emphasis is given to helping children, needy families, the aged, the handicapped, and those most in need of assistance. Rotarians strive to promote the ideal of service in their personal, business, and community lives.

International Service

In this area, Rotarians strive to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. International Service Projects are designed to meet the humanitarian needs of people in many lands, with particular emphasis on the most underprivileged children and families in developing countries.

Youth Service

Youth service recognizes the importance of empowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs such as Interact, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Rotary Youth Exchange.
